Mouse Genotyping

Our genotyping process begins with the DNA extraction of submitted tissue samples, efficiently performed using our high-throughput robotic platforms. Fully automated liquid handling systems and proprietary programming software seamlessly execute the PCR set up.

Through the cutting-edge combination of real-time PCR and high-resolution melt-curve analysis, we deduce genotypes with precision. The results are promptly dispatched to clients via email and uploaded on to ABR’s animal management software.

To initiate this process, please complete the New Project Submission Form, specifying the contact person, gene name, primer sequences, primer combinations, product sizes, and expected genotypes (wildtype, heterozygous, homozygous).

Upon receiving this information, we order the necessary primers and commence the project upon primer delivery and the control arrival. If you lack primer sequences and only have the gene name or sequence, we can assist in designing primers for your genotyping needs.

Copy number analysis (Het/Hom differentiation)

When exactly the same amount of DNA is added into a PCR reaction and amplification is monitored via real-time PCR, a homozygous sample will have a crossing point of one cycle earlier than a heterozygous sample. We can distinguish heterozygous samples from homozygous samples for any given gene through this protocol.

SNP analysis

We have developed a reliable and very competitively priced method to type SNPs in a high-throughput format via high-resolution melt curve (HRM) analysis.

Mouse Health Screens

Recent advances in mouse health screening have demonstrated the advantages of PCR detection of mouse pathogens from rack exhaust plenums, cage exhaust filters and mouse tissue or faeces. GMGs expertise in DNA/RNA extraction and PCR analysis in a high throughput setting, allows the development of cost effective, PCR pathogen screens.
