ABR 2025 price list

The 2025 price list is now available on our website  https://abr.org.au/ordering/price-lists/.

Unfortunately price rises are necessary to ensure that high quality mice can be provided to our clients into the future. Key aims of these price rises are to ensure the medium-long term sustainability of the supply of quality laboratory mice to support the research missions of our respective organisations. Specifically, the price increases are necessary to allow optimal staffing levels/ improve staff retention and to address the increasing cost of equipment maintenance and replacement as ABR ages.

Staffing:
For several years salaries at ABR have not kept pace with market rates, leading to high turnover, recruitment challenges and increased safety risks. All of these negatively impact the quality of operations. Higher salaries will enhance staff retention and attract strong candidates, ensuring we have a dedicated team to care for the mice critical for your research. Additional resources will be added to training in 2025 to enhance quality assurance and to minimise the risk of future infections.

Equipment:
Since opening in 2008, ABR’s equipment has been heavily utilized and is ageing. Refurbishment of key wash and decontamination equipment is planned to extend the lifespan, however equipment replacement will eventually be necessary. ABR has not received state or federal funding. Without external assistance, ABR infrastructure renewal must be funded through price adjustments.

ABR thanks you for your understanding and continued support.

The ABR team looks forward to working with you in 2025 as new colonies come on line. With very best wishes for the festive period.
